originally some sketches for Cricket’s bust commission but I needed a good distraction so I coloured a few of ‘em

Cricket wanted an Optimus helm design like Shockwave’s/Isaac Clarke’s so I essentially put Optimus Prime’s head in a blender.

Eventually I started thinking about how Cybertronians are given helms like this as punishment and it got me thinking about how fucked up an Empurata Optimus would have to be and I just kept making him look scarier.

I ALWAYS make the mistake of drawing something else on the same page and testing markers too close to the other image so that’s what the scribbles are. And I forgot the cuffs around his wrists.

Its actually a play off of my first username on DeviantART: xenonthehedgehog. I was, unfortunately, one of those people.

When I switched accounts people had already taken to calling me “Zeno” (with a Z, for some reason) and since I enjoyed the catchiness of the nickname I wanted to keep it. So I tacked on “phrenic” to the end because one: I’m really interested in tactile/auditory/visual mental disorders (schizophrenia for one) and two: the suffix “phrenic” means of or relating to the mind; and since its an artistic pen name, I thought it would be fitting. 

And it can be pronounced either or! I’ve heard it said both ways, but people at conventions/meet-ups usually say “Zee-no” and thats how I say it, too.
